For our drop-in, we welcome youth ages 12 to 19 at the Ignite Youth Centre. Some of our programs are also open to 10 and 11-year-olds — like our Friday Movie Nights and Tween Nights, which happen on the last Wednesday of every month. If you're not sure whether a program is right for your age, feel free to ask us!
You’re not alone — lots of youth come to Ignite without knowing anyone at first! Our space is friendly and welcoming, and we have staff and volunteers who are great at helping new people feel comfortable. Whether you're into art, games, music, or just hanging out, you'll have chances to connect with people at your own pace. We also invite you to tour the Ignite Youth Centre during our drop-in hours and have our awesome staff show you around!
Ignite is a safe, welcoming space where you can talk to someone, connect with resources, and get support when you need it. Our staff are here to listen and can help with things like mental health, school stress, family challenges, housing, food access, or just needing someone to talk to. If we can’t help directly, we’ll connect you with local services that can. You don’t have to go through anything alone — we’ve got your back.
We know parents want to hang out with us because we’re just that cool! 😎 But Ignite is meant to be a space where youth can hang out, make friends, and have fun independently. We provide supervision and guidance, so everyone stays safe. We do allow support workers to come along to make sure there are no barriers to accessing Ignite and that youth are getting the support they need. We also welcome volunteers from community programs such as Big Brothers & Big Sisters, with a valid vulnerable sector check.
Yes! If you're over 18 and passionate about working with youth, we’d love to hear from you. We’re always looking for volunteer Activity Leaders to run one-time or ongoing events — anything from sports and arts to music, gaming, or unique hobbies. It’s a great way to share your skills, connect with young people, and make a positive impact in your community. Reach out to us to learn more or pitch an idea!
