Embrace your inner artist! Join us for weekly arts and crafts projects and use many of our art supplies such as paint supplies, drawing pencils, pencil crayons, markers, modeling clay, paper, sketch books, and more!

Youth have the opportunity to work together to follow a new recipe each week. Youth will develop culinary skills, leadership and teamwork abilities, and gain an understanding of recipe math. All of our baked goods are made from scratch.

Our Cooking program involves youth working together to prepare a healthy, home cooked meal. With staff guidance, youth learn skills related to safe food handling, making nutritious choices, creating a budget and grocery shopping, understanding recipes, measuring ingredients, and preparing and cooking meals.

Embrace your competitive side in our Who’s Got Game program. Board games, video games, sports, card games, you name it – we’ve got it! Friendly competition and good sportsmanship is encouraged. Do you have what it takes?

During Homework Club youth are able to complete the work assigned to them throughout the school day in a supportive environment. Youth can utilize our computers and school supplies. Staff are available to help youth with their homework, and youth are encouraged to assist one another.

Grab your popcorn! Every other Friday at Ignite is Movie Night! Youth help staff to choose a youth appropriate movie to watch together in the Lounge.

Hit the gym for some fun, team based, friendly competition. Games include basketball, floor hockey, dodge ball and more. It’s not about winning, it’s about being active and having fun!

Directly following our cooking program, youth and staff join at the tables to eat dinner together. This is where Table Talk takes place. Youth and staff discuss various topics, including current events, relevant community issues, and concerns with school, relationships, employment, etc. It is a supportive space where every youth has the chance to speak their mind. Table talk also allows staff to receive feedback about the centre including programs and activities youth want to partake in.

Taking place for one month, youth work through relevant issue that they are facing, negative thoughts, lowered self-worth, declined mental health etc. Each month-long session is a different topic that is relevant to the youth that attend Ignite, for example the month of November is focusing on gratitude. This program is a mix of at home reflection through engaging worksheets and journal prompts and in-person sessions where youth come together for group discussion that is often led by the youth with staff support. To put it simply, it is a form of self-development that requires youth to do work in order to better themselves.
